Beauty: The Oft-Forgotten Virtue in the Art & Science of Defending the Christian Faith
Christian apologetics has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years. As believers seek to be equipped in defending the faith, partly in response to the “culture wars,” an unfortunate result has happened — an over emphasis in certain aspects of apologetics and a neglect in others. Truth, Goodness and Beauty have long been considered first order virtues by great thinkers throughout the ages. A lot of resources (i.e., conferences, books, lectures, etc.) have been spent focusing on truth and goodness, but regrettably, not enough on beauty—a virtue seldom given any attention in apologetics circles. That is why we have chosen the virtue of Beauty to be this conference’s theme — to help center our methods in the art and science of defending the faith. You won’t want to miss this important conference.
