Keeping The Faith From Sunday School To Monday School

Description:

“Professor Richard Dawkins has claimed that forcing a religion on children without questioning its merits is as bad as 'child abuse'.” How do you respond?

We at Soaring Oaks Presbyterian Church,  together with Apologetics.com and Reasons To Believe, invite you to join us for a very special FREE event, a two-day conference on April 24 & 25 titled, “Keeping The Faith From Sunday School To Monday School.”

Steeping ourselves and our children in the knowledge that is hidden in Christ is not just one good foundation among many, it is the only foundation upon which a just society can be built, and the one salvation for the believer.

Please join us as "We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ!" (2 Cor. 10:5), with keynote speaker Kenneth Samples, Senior Research Scholar at Reasons To Believe (www.reasons.org). Other great presentations include:

● "Keeping The Faith:The Foundation of Knowledge" by Elder Lindsay Brooks of SOPC, Staff Apologist for Apologetics.com and co-host of the weekly Apologetics.com Radio Show.

● "The Genius of Sunday School" by Elder Larry Larsen of SOPC, and college educator.
● "Monday School: Finding Light In the Dark" by Jamiella Brooks, Doctoral Candidate at UC Davis, and teaching consultant.

There will be a panel discussion where your questions will be discussed by the speakers, and other experts to the end of readying ourselves for the encounter with ideas in the public square, whether at school, work, or among our neighbors, and to give an answer with gentleness and respect for the hope that is in us! (1 Pet. 3:15)

● Event is FREE! A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
● Location: Soaring Oaks Presbyterian Church, 9169 Union Park Way Elk Grove, California 95624
● Friday, April 24 gathering for coffee and refreshments will begin at 6 with the keynote speaker at 7 and time for Q & A afterward, concluding no later than 9pm.
● Saturday, April 25 we will meet at 8AM for coffee and light snacks and the first speaker begins at 9, with the conference concluding around 4pm.

The great theologian of the last century, J. Gresham Machen said, “What is today a matter of academic speculation begins tomorrow to move armies and pull down empires.” We have seen this principle at work in our lifetimes. Ideas change things; good ideas change things for the better, and bad ideas crush the spirit of men. Join us as we discuss how best to “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3).

For more information, and to register ahead of time, go to soaringoaks.org, apologetics.com, or reasons.org. We look forward to seeing you!
